1742 Jefferson

The 1742 Jefferson residence is a century old house located near the heart of Downtown Kansas City, Missouri. The project entailed the renovation of the third floor, including a balcony. The client’s vision was to create an additional bedroom, kitchenette and an inviting entertainment area taking advantage of the downtown views. The original third floor layout had formerly been used as a separate apartment with various small rooms. The design challenge was to create this contemporary space while retaining the detail and charm of the existing structure. The design solution resulted in large expanses of glass with refined modern detailing uniting with the historical ornamentation.
