The American Institute of Architects in Kansas (AIA Kansas) is the state chapter of the American Institute of Architects. AIA Kansas provides services and programs to meet the needs and interests of Kansas architects and develop public awareness of the value of architects and architecture.  Our 600-plus members are leaders in building healthy, sustainable communities that will serve our citizens into the future.

Members Set the Agenda: Today’s new technologies and markets make membership in AIA Kansas more important than ever.  AIA Kansas members advance the architectural profession by maintaining their professional growth and expertise through meeting a set of stringent continuing education requirements, creating access to the latest architectural practice trends, and participating in outreach for historic preservation and disaster assessment programs.

Our History

The Charter of the Kansas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects was granted on April 2, 1921.  The Chapter has also been know as the Kansas Society of Architects. Throughout our history, AIA Kansas continues to provide our members with three basic benefits:

  • Education – seminars, conferences, and workshops to educate our members of an evolving profession.

  • Advocacy – providing the profession a voice before legislators and regulators, city and town councils, and within allied organizations

  • Communication – promoting the profession and working within our communities to make them better by design

Our Mission

The American Institute of Architects in Kansas, is the voice of the architectural profession and a resource for its members in service to society.

Our Vision

Driving positive change through the power of design.
