BOK Financial is a new full-service banking and office space located at 17th and Grand Boulevard in Kansas City, Missouri. An integral part of the redevelopment of Grand Place in the Crossroads District and one of the first projects to implement the Grand Boulevard Streetscape Plan, BOK Financial connects to the historic rhythms of its surrounding context while establishing a renewed presence, greenspace, and pedestrian-pathways within this area. BOK Financial seeks to enhance the urban condition, introduce connections to nature through native plantings, and engage the neighborhood by serving as a key community asset. BOK Financial reimagines the traditional banking experience by focusing on the overall experience and connections with both clients and the community. Public spaces are intentionally situated on the northwest corner of the building, thoughtfully optimizing space within the building’s narrow footprint to place prominence on the corner of 17th and Grand. The facility’s welcoming lobby space emphasizes transparency through daylight and views of surrounding native plantings and is equipped with teller stations, corporate offices, a banking drive-thru, and a walk-up ATM. The second level of the building features additional offices, a daylight-filled, flexible breakroom and kitchen, and a multi-purpose space for events, trainings, and client and board meetings. A cantilevered outdoor terrace overlooks Grand Boulevard and further establishes connections to the Crossroads District. BOK Financial features numerous sustainable strategies to enhance human well-being and building efficiency, including a Photovoltaic (PV) array installed on BOK’s rooftop, resulting a 93% reduction in EUI from baseline.
