About the Event
Program Description:
This program specifically examines the major advancements in Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS) which specifically address the many challenges associated with today’s building envelope design, construction and performance. In an ever maturing building design and construction landscape, it has become increasingly challenging for designers, engineers and constructors to stay ahead of the curve.
Changes to model building codes in the areas of improved energy efficient design, air /moisture management and fire performance compliance are all being mandated in the name of reduced energy consumption, resiliency, sustainability and high performance. This scenario is especially true for the design and construction of building envelope wall assemblies forcing focus on more cost effective, timely and compatible solutions.
EIFS solutions today offer tremendous versatility for system type, durability and aesthetic value along with diversity for use in new commercial or residential, restoration, renovation and modular / panelized constructions as a single specification source for continuous insulation (ci), air/water-resistive barrier (awrb) and NFPA 285 fire testing compliance.
Learning Objectives:
- Re-introduce Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS) composition and versatility through examination of component layer functions, system choices and aesthetic options.
- Introduce new technology and design enhancements related to impact resistance, durability and specific environmental performance needs.
- Explore the full range and options for EIFS such as new, restoration, renovation and modularization constructions in both commercial and residential buildings.
- Understand building envelope wall code complexity such as continuous insulation requirements, air/water-resistive barrier integration and fire testing performance and how a single sourced EIFS cladding can easily comply.
