High Performance vs. Basic RTU's
Time & Location
About the Event
Basic Rooftop Units (RTUS) were considered fifty years ago the low cost, budget driven alternative to more comfortable and maintainable, but more expensive, centralized and Indoor HVAC systems. With improvements in HVAC technology and an emphasis placed on Life Cycle Cost (first cost-energy-maintenance and replacement costs), Basic RTUs are no longer seen as a budget choice, but a value compared to classic "Cadillac" systems. Additionally, Occupant comfort and building issues that might have been acceptable fifty years ago have become problems to be addressed. Walk through the differences between High Performance and Basic RTUs with a discussion on how different capabilities impact Life Cycle Costs, building humidity, and Occupant Comfort.
