High Performance vs. Basic RTU's

Basic Rooftop Units (RTUS) were considered fifty years ago the low cost, budget driven alternative to more comfortable and maintainable, but more expensive, centralized and Indoor HVAC systems. With improvements in HVAC technology and an emphasis placed on Life Cycle Cost (first cost-energy-maintenance and replacement costs), Basic RTUs are no longer seen as a budget choice, but a value compared to classic "Cadillac" systems.
