CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
We are seeking innovative speakers and presentations for the 2020 Milestones Conference, which will take place October 27–29 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Manhattan, Kansas.
AIA KS provides continuing education programs for CEU's throughout the year to more than 700 architects in Kansas and throughout the region. As a speaker, there are multiple opportunities for you to participate, gain visibility, and increase your leadership role in the profession by providing valuable information to attendees.
This year’s theme is “Milestones: The Through Lines.” The conference will look at the different lines running through a career, a project, an office, and practice in general. On each line there are milestones marking significant moments such as finishing architecture school, getting that first job, getting licensed, finalizing schematic design, exceeding ADA requirements, having all the project data come together, exceeding a building performance goal, the last piece of steel, the firm transitioning leadership, or the moment facilities management takes over. All of these are constantly happening or will happen. How can we explore these milestones, learn from each other and others and break through them with confidence and clarity onto the next milestone?
We hope that you will consider sharing your expertise, experience and knowledge on a milestone important to you.
Submitted presentations not chosen for the 2020 Milestones Conference will be considered for other education events throughout the year.
We will be selecting presentations for the traditional 60-minute breakout sessions as well as the 30 minute nano sessions. The nano sessions will likely involve a more conversational approach and include participation from the audience. These sessions might be a great opportunity to demonstrate something or pose a question to the group on a particular topic. Please consider sessions that offer hands-on learning as the conference location offers unique access to the 20,000 SF shop facilities in the College of Architecture Planning and Design.
